Flickr and Microformats

microforats magnifying glass

In the picture to the right, Stewart Butterfield of Flickr/Ludicorp/Yahoo is holding up a Microformats.org magnifying glass over a (name)tag that says “Sexy!”.Apparently, the nametag says “Stewart,” not “Sexy.” I swear there was a nametag around that said “Sexy,” and I swear I saw Stewart with it in his hands. Of course, I did have a few beers before that point. :)

Perhaps Flickr will even support microformats?

Nice website design, but I wonder if you know there is a way around your backup for IE’s lack of “li:hover” support.

If you use “a:hover” and “a:hover span” you can use those two corner background images. Then it will look just like you used “li:hover” and “a:hover” instead. The only problem I found was the cursor not changing to a pointer but the link still works, but you can just change the cursor with another CSS line.

I got the idea from Douglas Bowman’s Sliding Doors article from A List Apart.
