Microformats: the book
It’s certainly old news by now, (since when are we on the cutting edge here?) but there’s a book out dedicated entirely to microformats.
Written by John Allsopp and published by Friends of Ed, Microformats: Empowring Your Markup for Web 2.0 covers everything you need to know about microformats, from how they’re built (the process) to how to publish and parse them. Include are two case studies, one about corkd, another about Yahoo.
I haven’t read the entire book yet, but still I’d recomend it to anyone interested in microformats. John’s a great writer, and he built a great supporting cast for this book– it was tech edited by Brian Suda and includes contributions from Dan Cederholm and Nate Koetchly, among others.
Even if you feel you wouldn’t learn anything from the book, at the very least you can show it to your manager and say “look, it must be important, they’re writing books about it!”.

Doh! I’m a moron. I read that actual text in the book title link and it says “Empowring”, with no “e” and I thought it was a deliberate move (ala Flickr) until I read the actual cover of the book.

I am currently reading though the book. Being just introduced to microformats, I think it is a great book for the what whys and hows of microformats. There are plenty of usage examples as well as very good explanations of why certain things are done within the different types of microformats.

The books great i just wish it went into more depth on microformats in development such as xFolk.
There is some grammer errors that sent me flying and had to re-read the line’s and at times the author repeats himself.
Still a great book though and it opened my eyes to the power of microformats.

Excellent book from cover to cover. In-depth look at the many aspects/formats of microformats and some excellent interviews/case studies.
I definitely like the line:

Semantic web always helps people finding things and is especially usefull if search engines can retrieve information that can be categorized.
I wonder if Microformats can be applied for eCommerce purposes?!
