Thanks Chris, this is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for.
(Examples in the wild, as Tantek referred to, are kind of useful, but
they don't make for good unit tests.)
I might also try the examples in the wild too, inspect them manually,
and then if something seems wrong try to extract that into a smaller and
more repeatable test.
