I think the "listing" efforts are closest to what you are looking for.
By the way, anytime you find yourself wanting to make something "general" or
being able to describe "arbitrary" "features", considering simply using
tags.
E.g. you may want consider simply trying to use xFolk on the URLs of the
products, along with tags for the "features" of those products.
That's one way to avoid the whole defining a comprehensive product / product
feature taxonomy problem.
