Ok, I'll try this again.
These are ALL great points!
I agree that it would be ideal to have a way of <head>lessly declaring the
formal vocabularies of microformats in use.
Like I said:

Thus let's consider this thread closed for the moment until I've had the
chance to do what I said above. Otherwise we're in for a lot more repeated
circular discussion of the topic.
If anyone else wishes to actually help with the work (i.e. unbottleneck me)
of documenting the issues raised and possible/proposed solutions, please
consider doing so NOT on this mailing list (we've already had so much email
on this topic that people are now repeating the same things over and over
which is not effective use of the list), but instead, start a page on the
wiki. There are some loosely written thoughts written about XMDP issues/FAQ
on the wiki right now, so feel free to clean that up or add to it, or start
additional more specific pages.
Also, since *so much* has been written on this topic on the email list, part
of the point here is distillation, so consider starting *very* simple with
key high level points. Don't just cut and paste from the email archives.
Less text is better. As I make progress on this myself, I'll add/prune
stuff on the wiki.
Thanks,
Tantek
