--- i think it would be a better idea instead to work within the
microformats community and make the needed changes here rather than
the browser doing something contrary to microformats, and therefore
potentially breaking microformats now and in the future.

It would be best NOT to let others define how microformats work
outside of the microformats community! This is an open community and
they can certainly particate in the development and give their
feedback rather than ignore our process and interpret the specs how
they see fit.
