I've been looking at microformats for a few weeks now and I'm slightly
confused with the proposed hResume format.
My confusion comes from the employment history.
Why would one want to put a personal hCard into an hCalendar event
that essentially has old information in it? A person who is viewing
the hResume could download/extract one of the employment history
hCards and could think it is the correct contact information the
writer of the hResume. This could lead to a lot of confusion and
problems.
I was told on IRC yesterday that this is fine because the hCard was
inside the hCalendar and the hCard was time senestive. This, however,
does not prevent the hCard to be taken out of context and the time
element of the hCalendar event to be lost.
I've read though most of the documentation surrounding hResume and I
can't find an explanation to this. The closest thing I could find was
this:
"Additionally, within a particular work experience, the list of job
titles could be expressed as hcards. The only issue here is with
having to repeat the FN for each of these hcards."
http://microformats.org/wiki/resume-brainstorming#Work_Experience
This doesn't really explain the reasoning behind the decision to go
this route. It would make more sense if the hCard in side the
hCalendar event was a hCard for the employer and not the x-employee.
Can anyone give some insight on this?
