The same thing is happening with "geo" at the moment. Altitude and date
information is certainly useful in geo but can't be added because no  
changes
to geo are accepted, since they are not in vCards and subsequently  
not in
hCards.

Will UID be locked too, just like geo? If this is not the case, then  
I'm fine with
using UID for ISBN/ISSN numbers. Protocol style identifiers (isbn://)  
and type
identifiers (<span class="type">ISBN</span>) are both very good  
solutions
and have worked elsewhere.
