== Summary ==
Incredible progress has been made in the past year on [[social-network-portability]], with the release of Google's Social Graph API to query the Web's [[XFN]] links, and numerous social network sites adopting [[hcard-supporting-user-profiles]] and [[hcard-xfn-supporting-friends-lists]].

And yet, despite the fact that now most of the users of the social web have at least one [[hCard]], there are still many sites continuing to burden users with social network fatigue, and subject users to [[social-network-anti-patterns]].

This talk will cover today's state of the art with real world examples, and outline how we can do better, as well as providing a reminder of the pitfalls to avoid.
