La portabilité de données vous concerne, vous en tant qu'utilisateur pour pouvoir migrer et utiliser <em>vos</em> données à travers l'espace (différents sites web, différents terminaux, différents médias) et dans le temps (archivage, retrouvaille, etc.)<br />

Ce fut l'un des stimulis derrière le développement des microformats, et désormais les microformats sont une clé permettant le bloc de constrcuction pour la portabilité de données dans différents contextes :<br />
