Similar to [[rel-tag]], though typically rel-category destinations are
* chosen from an explicitly maintained taxonomy
* typically intended for the context of a single site or blog

Whereas rel-tag destinations / segments are typically open ended (no explicit taxonomy), and typically intended for use / understanding within a more global context, across sites and services (see also [[hashtag]]).

May be used with rel-tag. If a hyperlink destination / segment reflects both a tag and a category for the current blog post or page, then it makes sense to use both, e.g. with <code> rel="category tag" </code> on the hyperlink.
