This page discusses various thoughts and strawman proposals for a journal microformat.

Background

HTML was developed in a scientific community to help researchers exchange information. However, HTML does not provide any special support for publishing scientific papers. Several XML-based formats offer a vocabulary of elements to publishers of scholarly journals.
