Definitely.

I think either approach could be valid, though this is certainly an  
open question. I'd prefer that it be explicit, personally.

Previous discussions around hcard have leaned against using any  
proprietary extensions.

Email will probably get more attention.

Of course, X2V wouldn't have to translate things 1-to-1. The hcard  
could have a <span class="fn or">...</span> which gets converted into  
the proprietary fields that Apple's address book uses.
