It's important (for me, anyway) to make a distinction between caring  
about meta-issues and engaging in meta-discussion.  Some of us  care  
about these issues but care more about microformats themselves, and  
see these discussions as distracting us from that work.  If someone  
started posting here about funding cancer research I think we'd all  
object to that, not because we don't care about curing cancer, but  
simply because that's not the purpose of this community.
