<h1>hCalendar Examples in the wild</h1>

This page is an informative section of the hCalendar specification.

The following sites have published events using hCalendar, and thus are a great place to start for anyone looking for examples "in the wild" to try parsing, indexing, organizing etc.

If events on your site are marked up with hCalendar, feel free to add it to the top of this list. Please be sure to include at least one URL of a page on your site that includes actual hCalendar markup. Examples added without the URL of a page with hCalendar markup may be removed.

Want to get started with writing an hCalendar event? Use the hCalendar creator to write up an event and publish it, or follow the hCalendar authoring tips to add hCalendar markup to your page of upcoming events or events you mention in blog posts, wikis, etc.

:Evan's built a MediaWiki plugin for listings which renders restaurant, bar, club, etc. listings as hcards. We're about to start rolling it out far and wide, though of course this is going to take a while.
:Hi Andy! Thanks for the welcome. There's hardly any need however for my advocating hCard at Wikitravel since it was Evan Prodromou's use of hCard on Wikitravel which convinced me to go with hCalendar on Wikevent.

:Evan's built a MediaWiki plugin for listings which renders restaurant, bar, club, etc. listings as hcards. We're about to start rolling it out far and wide, though of course this is going to take a while.

:Meanwhile you might want to check out Evan's essay on what he sees as an emerging conflict between [microformats and RDFa http://evan.prodromou.name/RDFa_vs_microformats].

:I don't know what the plans are for Geo data on Wikitravel right now. I've been a little busy with other stuff. That said I know that we've mostly used RDF to date, but I imagine that the MediaWiki Listing plugin will use Geo microformats. -- MarkJaroski 07:24, 25 Nov 2006 (PST)
Hi Andy,
I am one of the contributors/admins on wikispecies. You posted a message a while ago, also on our mailing list. I am wondering in what stage you really are with your private project. Have you actually build something, or are you still in the brain-storming phase?
