== Introduction ==
Cet effort provient du besoin d'un format de marquage lisible par les êtres humains et les machines qui puisse s'utiliser pour définir les horaires d'ouverture des établissements.

Les magasins, entreprises, etc. fournissent souvent leurs horaires d'ouverture sur leurs sites web. Avec l'ajout d'un peu de balisage, ils peuvent définir leurs horaires d'ouverture sur leurs sites web de telle façon que les robots et autres agrégateurs puissent retrouver de telles heures, les convertir automatiquement dans le format iCalendar, et utiliser ces données dans toute application ou service iCalendar.
