Beau travail!

Translation

Are you using automatic translator to translate the pages? Token 18:07, 6 Nov 2006 (PST)

Not really, let's say just human curiosity/excitation to know more about these small chunks of code. However, I'd be really interested to know more about this theuht process which could probably help ? a bit tired now. time to go zzzz. -- xtof 18:22, 6 Nov 2006 (PST)

Crediting your work

You're doing a great job with your translation work!

If, instead of (traduction ChristopheDucamp) you use (traduction ~~~) then your name will be linked to your user page.

  • Thanks Andy. Good suggestion, I completely forgot this shortcut as this wiki is not really opened to discussion and I'll still have to set up preferences ;) May I ask you to check adr-fr if you've 1 minute : still not sure about the code-localization. And don't hesitate to call if you visit Paris. I'd be happy to share a beer with you. -- xtof 02:35, 10 Jan 2007 (PST)
    • I've tweaked your mark-up - the "adr" was correct, but didn't match the suggested output. Paris and beer sound good! Andy Mabbett 03:16, 10 Jan 2007 (PST)
      • thanks andy. Just let me know if you visit us. I have a room available for couchsurfing ! we could try to organize a dedicated session. If you've another minute during this month, would you be ready to help me to convince Alex and Lion which could help us one day to work on a facilitation to build wiki-hcard ;-) -- xtof
        • I will have a look at that. Andy Mabbett 03:27, 10 Jan 2007 (PST)

Translating property names

May I suggest that you add translations of property names (e.g. on adr-fr#Liste Propriétés), in parentheses, after the English name? Andy Mabbett 03:27, 10 Jan 2007 (PST)

Done, will need to be fact-checked - xtof

advocacy-fr

Rather than replicating advocacy, I think it would be better if advocacy-fr concentrated on advocating the use of microformats on French language websites (so Le Monde not The Times, quebec.gov not *.gov.uk, etc.). What do you think? Andy Mabbett 11:06, 15 Jan 2007 (PST)

Hi Andy, completely agree. Currently trying to find out explorators ready to help in French. Because in 2007, I'm not independant (currently working in a bank and trying to imagine some simple and stupid implementations). Your english suggestions will be very helpful. My first current advocacy could be to investigate how we could find out french people ready to help to translate and experts available to questions such as this one asked by Colin of BankWatch on our BarCampBank page organization :

I have two high level questions about this concept,
having thought about it some more:
My main point is to have a tool that will support consumers
while they browse, by watching Bank sites as follows:
   * hold the customers identity secret, but make their needs available
   * bank sites would expect customers' "tool" and would respond with quotes
     based on the customers needs
   * customer could take the gathered quotes, and determine the best for their needs
In essence, consumers would have an intelligent agent/ bot
working on their behalf, by gathering information to support
 their banking (my example) needs.
My secondary point :
microformats are being held up as "information brokers".
Are they appropriate as the tool that will address the needs above?

Questions I have:
   * would this require banks to adopt a standard
     to support the microformat?
   * how would the customer retain the data
     gathered by the microformats?

Currently feeling unable to answer... And I've never worked on any mailing list. Would you feel at ease to leave him a word on the barcamp-wiki ?

In the same vein, my position here could be to localize the events page. Andy, I'd be happy to have a phone call with you next week-end if you don't mind ? -- xtof

French navigation bar

Navigation : Page principale - Page aléatoire - Aide - Pages spéciales

You might like to use {{navigation-fr}} at the top of each of your French pages, to generate the above alternative to the left-hand menu. Please feel free to edit it as you see fit. Also, you can use "fr" in the search box to go straight to the French main page. Regards,Andy Mabbett 17:27, 26 Mar 2007 (PDT)
