iGTD Syntax

Retrieved from the QuickSilver for iGTD page, iGTD is an Apple GTD appication comes with a plugin that allows you to enter data from Quicksilver.

To enter text commands into Quicksilver, launch the command window, press "." to switch to text mode and enter your note text. Tab to the action pane, select your action and then hit "enter".

Commands

Create a note in your inbox

Type your note.
Buy milk.

Tab and select "Put into iGTD inbox" action. Hit enter.

Put a file into your inbox

Select a file in Quicksilver command window or use the current selection from Finder (keys: Cmd+G).

Tab and select "Put into iGTD inbox" action. Hit enter.

Create a note in a specific context

Simple start your note with the context @development Remove a bug in link field

Note: you don't have to use the whole context's name. iGTD can recognize your desired context even if you type only a few first letters of the name:

@dev Remove a bug in link field

Attach a note to a project

Simply end your note with the project name in brackets.
Tshirt survey [microformats]

Note: you can use shortcuts of projects: Tshirt survey [mf]

Attach a note to a project inside a context

Simply combine the two above techniques: @email Tshirt survey [mf]

Attach a note to a task

First type in a context, a task name, then type ':' and enter a task note. @email Tshirt survey [mf]:Send out message to microformats list

Note: You can type the [project] name wherever you want - before or after colon.

Set priority for a task

Priority is set with exclamation points and questons marks:

  • !! = 5 priority
  • ! = 4 priority
  • none = 3 priority
  • ? = 2 priority
  • ?? = 1 priority

Important: @email Tshirt survey!

Least important @email Tshirt survey??

Set a due date for a task

Attach a #duedate string to the end of the action: @email Tshirt survey! [mf]:Send out message to microformats list #this week

Note: natural language statements like today, next week and so on work fine, as well as a date in US or locale format.
