Hi Simon,
I wanted to emphasize that this is exactly the kind of discussion we want to
see on microformats-discuss. What you said:
"not directly a discussion of a proposed or upcoming uF in itself"
Is perfectly ok (and in fact, removing the pressure of feeling like you have
to propose a microformat is a GOOD THING), but more to the point, you are
talking about two specific subjects which are very much on topic for the
list:
"general thoughts on the design" [from a semantic markup point of view]
"and ... [use of] elemental uF's and uF design patterns"
Your message (and a few other threads I've seen recently which probably
belonged more on microformats-dev <ahem>uF Discovery</ahem> ) has made it
clear that it is about time we added a wiki page with some notes about
topics for the various microformats mailing lists which provides more detail
than the top level /discuss page on the site.
