I've been looking at it. The basic information is easy, but examples from real
sites are all over the place, especially for the "features and specifications"
sections. Name, value pairs are common, but so are category, name, value
triples, with the the "value" of a feature sometimes being a simple
string, other
times being something more complex. In addition, it's common to break up
product descriptions across several pages, with the presentation not closely
tied to the logical structure of the information. (People seem to feel the need
to be "creative" when presenting product info :-) )
EDI (and followon XML/SOAP) specs can get, well, "overly elaborate" is a
kind way of putting it, but they do illustrate the wide variety of possibilities
in the space.
