Agreed.

But note that they all have their own notions of "author", "title" etc.

Lisa Rein has posted a draft analysis/proposal for video metadata as well:

These may not all serve exactly the same purposes, but they have HUGE
overlap, thus there is evidence that a microformat (perhaps starting with
just that overlapping portion) may be useful.

Yes, I agree.

As one of the core principles of microformats is re-use, I strongly
recommend that anybody working on "media info/metadata" re-use all the
excellent research and work the XSPF group has done.
