I'm not involved with it, but I'm aware of it.

This is Chris Heuer's project.

I don't quite see how this is a microformat in the community sense
though the goals are similar. In some ways, it's kind of like the
hWidget project that was developed outside the microformats community
and process, which, as we've seen, has resulted in lesser adoption.

I don't quite understand why they're working outside the microformats
community, except that it's not the traditional folks who work on
standards or webdev who are involved (i.e. PR firms).

I do take issue with the way that they're going about building out
this work and calling it a microformat; in some respects, this is
where, as a community mark, the microformats community should make
clear how it feels about work of this nature being called a
"microformat" that has exclusivity baked into its community model:

"Membership in the working group is subject to approval by the Social
Media Club advisory board"
