Hi,
O'Connor ought to be listed under C in an alphabetical list, although that
rule's not applied very strictly any more. Otherwise Irish phonebooks would
be nothing but O :)
Certainly I remember that my name was under D on the register at school.

This gets a bit tricky cos some family name prefixes (Mc, Mac, Fitz, O')
stay attached to the family name when listing alphabetically. So you see:
Macfarren, George
O'Connor, Mark
