[uf-discuss] NetNewsWire ditches support for microformats

I've been using NNW since January and don't think I've ever used the  
microformat icons in it, so I can't say I'm bothered that it's gone.  
In 95% of cases, you could probably just open the article link in  
your browser and find the microformat there anyway.

I do notice that NNW can call external applescripts. I don't know  
much applescript, but I imagine that it would only take a dozen lines  
or so to connect to a Cognition daemon running on a local TCP port  
and do something useful. :-)

As I understand it the motivation to remove it was not a matter of UI  
clutter, but to cut out chunks of source code, speeding the  
application up, slimming it down and removing dependance on a rather  
ugly API. Making it an optional feature thus wouldn't achieve the  
objectives.
