Les Orchard has written a nice XOXO outline editor in javascript. Imagine what you could do with some AJAX to “autosave” this XOXO outline to the server, and allow multiple users to edit different subpoints simultaneously.

You might like this – exactly what you asked for, except you can do things like have styled text and images, drag items around within the list, be numbered or xoxo, etc – all of it with multiple users editing at once…I found your site looking into microformats, that’s coming soon for us too…

It seems like you have an ideal application for publishing microformats on the web. For example, among the uses, you list “Team Calendars”. Take a look at hCalendar for web calendar publishing.
