This is what I use in my WordPress site for the comments:

<cite class="vcard">Comment by
<a href="http://redmonk.net" rel="external" class="url">
<span class="fn">Steve Ivy</span></a> on
<a href="#comment-2321">Jul 30, 2006 9:46 pm</a></cite>

Which is probably just a step up from the above example, as it has a URL. :)

I'd be nice to see this supported in WP out of the box, eh?
