Yes, hListing is something that sounds a lot like what you are  
suggesting...  That said, the hListing effort has languished a bit  
and perhaps now is a good time to get it resurrected.

While on the topic of hListing, one thing we are waiting to see is  
more microformats describing automobiles, houses, jobs, etc.  These  
are required to make the most use of hListing because hListing by  
itself is really just a container for other microformats.
